Meet Dr. Brian Banfield
Education
Dr. Banfield attended Brigham Young University where he graduated with a B.S. in Zoology in 1998. He graduated with honors from Nova Southeastern University with a D.M.D. degree in 2003. Following graduation, he completed a general practice residency (GPR) at Denver Health Medical Center. Dr. Banfield obtained his advanced specialty training in Endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania in 2006. Throughout his residency, he practiced as a general dentist but now specializes exclusively in Endodontics. Dr. Banfield joined Apex Endodontics in 2007.
Microsurgery
During his residency, Dr. Banfield received extensive training in the use of microscopes, microscopic imaging, and endodontic microsurgery. He was an instructor at the Microscope Training Center in the University of Pennsylvania, where he instructed participants from around the world in the uses of micro-surgical techniques. He has continued teaching by presenting endodontic lectures to other practitioners, and has been involved in research in endodontic instrumentation and apical transportation.

Dr. Banfield maintains membership in the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontics, Arizona State Dental Association, and the OKU Chi Psi Chapter (National Dental Honor Society).

Personal
Dr. Banfield was born in Illinois and moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1982 where he later met and married his wife, Melissa. They have been married since 2000 and have 4 children: Madison, Mikelle, Blake, and Katelyn. During his spare time, he enjoys watching the Diamondbacks, Phoenix Suns, and playing softball. Dr. Banfield also enjoys boating, skiing, and SCUBA diving.
